Questions
Common questions

Private companies issue Parking Charge Notices — civil claims, not legal fines. Many are successfully challenged. Never ignore one, but don't assume you must pay.

To verify you're the registered keeper of the vehicle — a required part of any appeal. It's encrypted in transit and permanently deleted once your case closes.

You can escalate free of charge — to POPLA for private land fines, or the Traffic Penalty Tribunal for council PCNs. We'll help you every step of the way.

Typically 28 days from the notice date. Appealing pauses the early-payment discount countdown — you won't be penalised for challenging it.

This policy explains how TicketGone ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores and protects your personal data when you use our parking charge appeal service at ticketgone.co.uk. We handle your data in line with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

1. Who we are

TicketGone is operated as a sole trader. Contact: ticketgone@proton.me, 207 Regent Street, London, W1B 3HH. ICO registration: registration pending.

2. The data we collect

To prepare and submit a parking charge appeal on your behalf we collect: your name; contact details (email, mobile, postal address); case details (PCN reference, issuing company or council, date of charge, your description of what happened); and a photograph of your driving licence, used to confirm you are the registered keeper. We collect this directly from you via our form and do not buy data about you.

3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We do not use your licence photo for facial recognition or biometric identification.

4. Who we share it with

Only where necessary: the relevant parking operator, council, POPLA or the Traffic Penalty Tribunal as part of your appeal; and our processor Tally (Tally B.V., Belgium), which operates our form and stores submissions on our instructions under a data processing agreement. We never sell your data or share it for third-party marketing.

5. Where your data is stored

Submissions, including your licence image, are stored within the European Economic Area (EEA). UK-to-EEA transfers are permitted under UK adequacy regulations, so no additional safeguards are required. If we introduce a provider storing data elsewhere, we will put an appropriate safeguard (such as the UK IDTA) in place.

6. How long we keep it

Driving licence image: deleted within 30 days of your case concluding, or sooner on request. Case and contact details: kept no longer than 12 months after conclusion, then deleted, unless the law requires longer.

7. Your rights

You may access your data; correct it; have it erased; restrict or object to processing; withdraw consent; and receive a portable copy. To exercise any right, email ticketgone@proton.me; we respond within one month.

8. Security

Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest by our form provider, with access restricted to authorised personnel. No online service is 100% secure, but we take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it.

9. Cookies

This website uses no tracking or advertising cookies.

10. Children

Our service is intended for vehicle keepers and is not directed at children under 18.

11. Complaints

Please contact us first so we can help. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF.

12. Changes

We may update this policy; changes will be posted here with a revised "last updated" date.
